The Cormorant Lakes Watershed District (CLWD) was established to protect and enhance the quality of waters within its jurisdiction, and to ensure that appropriate decisions are made concerning management of streams, wetlands, lakes, groundwater and related land resources that impact these waters.
On this site you can see contact information, permit forms, meeting minutes, and information about our activities and projects.
Watershed Management Plan
A revised Watershed Management Plan ("10-Year Plan") was approved by the Minnesota Board of Soil and Water Resources (BWSR) effective January 25, 2012. The full plan is available for review by clicking on the link above.
(Note: you will need Adobe Reader, available as a free download at www.adobe.com, to view the Management Plan.)
Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) The Watershed is actively participating in management of Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS), such as the watershed's support for Upper Cormorant's control of curly leaf pondweed. We are also active in supporting best practices to prevent AIS spread. We're active in inspections of watercraft at public accesses, putting up signage to inform boaters of the law, and supporting education efforts regarding this threat.
